About
Shany Erkin is a Brooklyn-based photographer whose work explores the intuitive, embodied ways of knowing the world that feel universal in childhood yet become increasingly difficult to access with age. Through photography, she seeks to momentarily reactivate those modes of seeing and the memories bound up in them.

Erkin holds a B.F.A. in Photography from Parsons School of Design and completed a mentorship at Magnum Photos under Susan Meiselas and Matt Black. She has since worked extensively with arts nonprofits and cultural institutions across New York City.
